Welcome to Lucky Star Ranch
Here at Lucky Star Ranch we raise the beautiful, gentle, naturally gaited
Missouri Foxtrotting Horse.

About the Missouri Fox Trotting Horse

The Missouri Fox Trotting Horse performs it's smooth comfortable gait by walking in the front and trotting behind with
a reach in each stride. The breed is not known for high stepping, but is an extremely sure footed one.  The rider
experiences very little jarring action and can ride comfortably for long periods of time.  The rhythmic beat and the
bobbing head give the animal a relaxed demeanor.
The Gait should be springy consistant and smooth, and the up and down motion should not be noticable, but rather a
smooth, gliding gait without swinging.

The Fox Trotting Horse should be between 14 to 16 hands in height, have good conformation and be able to carry weight.
The neck should be graceful and in proportion to the rest of it's body. The horse should have a neat, clean shaped head,
pointed well shaped ears, and a tapered muzzle.  The back should be reasonably short and strong; the body deep and well
ribbed. The flank should be full and the chest deep and full. Shoulders should be properly sloped and well muscled. Legs
should be muscular and well-tapered.  The foot should be well-made, strong and in proper proportion to the size of the
horse. The coat should be soft and silky.

The Fox Trotting Horse is known best for the comfort it affords to it's rider.
90% of registered Missouri Fox Trotting Horses are used by their owners for trail riding,
competiton and endurance riding,  and pleasure riding.
